Rialto voters who want their mail ballots counted on election night should drop them in the mail by Tuesday, Oct. 27, the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters said.

The Nov. 3 General Election is one week away. Mail ballots went out to all active registered voters beginning Oct. 5, according to a county announcement published Oct. 22. No postage is needed to return a ballot by mail, but it must be postmarked on or before Nov. 3 and received within seven days after the election.

Voters who miss the Oct. 27 mailing window can still return a ballot to a drop box or early voting location by Friday, Oct. 30, to have it included in the first round of election night results, the Registrar said.

Drop boxes in Rialto

Rialto Network, the city's public access television station, listed three mail ballot drop-box sites in Rialto in a June post:

  • Fire Station 204, 3288 Alder Ave.
  • City Clerk's Office, 290 W. Rialto Ave.
  • Sandra R. Courtney Community Playhouse, 150 E. San Bernardino Ave.

The post states exterior drop boxes are open until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Because the list was published in June, it may reflect a prior election cycle. The county's official drop-box list for the Nov. 3 election could not be independently confirmed at the time of publication. Voters can verify locations by calling the Registrar at 909-387-8300.

Early voting and Election Day

Early voting is open at the Registrar of Voters office, 777 E. Rialto Ave. in the city of San Bernardino (not the city of Rialto), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is also open Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the county's early voting page.

Ten additional early voting locations across San Bernardino County open Thursday, Oct. 29. None of the listed sites is within Rialto city limits. The nearest include the Highland Family YMCA at 7793 Central Ave. in Highland and the Ontario Conference Center at 1947 E. Convention Center Way in Ontario. Those sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Monday, Nov. 2, closed Sunday, Nov. 1, and open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

On Nov. 3, any polling place in San Bernardino County is open to any county voter from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Registration and ballot tracking

The voter registration deadline was Oct. 19. Residents who missed it can still register and vote in person at the Registrar's office, an early voting location or any polling place through Election Day, the county said.

Voters can track their mail ballot through the Registrar's My Elections Gateway portal or the California Secretary of State's "Where's My Ballot?" system for updates by email, text or voice call.
