Westbound Baseline Road will be reduced to a single lane at Laurel Avenue starting Monday, Nov. 2, as Southern California Edison performs electrical upgrade work at the intersection.

The lane reduction runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day through Thursday, Nov. 5, according to a traffic advisory issued by the Rialto Public Works Department on Thursday, Oct. 29.

The advisory does not name a specific detour route. It instructs drivers to follow posted signs in the work zone and to drive slowly through the construction area.

Speed limits will be enforced in the work zone. The city asks drivers to watch for workers, pedestrians and vehicles near the intersection.

Access to local residences will remain available during the work, the advisory states.

Residents with questions can contact Rialto Public Works Department Inspector Emmanuel Rodriguez at (909) 406-0445 or email [email protected].
